Future We Want Model United Nations (FWWMUN)
Students from, Our Own English High School, Sharjah (GIRLS) participated in the recently concluded largest simulation of the UN in the GCC countries, “Future We Want Model United Nations (FWWMUN)” from 25th April-27th April.
Inspired by the 2012 Rio+20 Resolution, the FWWMUN is committed to promoting a united international community, a better future, and a more sustainable world through the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). FWWMUN seeks to bring together future generations of leaders from all corners of the globe to gain first-hand experience in international relations, to produce high-quality resolutions aimed at bringing about the Future We Want.
From amongst the 650+ delegates spread over 6 committees, the delegates of our school excelled in the 4 committees they were allocated, displaying their skills of diplomacy, debating and critical thinking.
• Varshini Dhanya of Grade 9-B, representing Zimbabwe in CCPCJ was awarded “Best Delegate”
• Devaanshi Arun of Grade 9-E, representing Uruguay in CCPCJ received an award for “Best Diplomacy”.
