Sustainable School Award

On November 4, 2023, Our Own Sharjah Girls earned the prestigious Sustainable School Award at the GEMS Road to COP28 conference, hosted by Gems Founders School. This accolade not only acknowledges their remarkable achievements but also serves as a dynamic force propelling them towards continuous improvement. It boldly underlines the school's unwavering commitment to environmental and social responsibility, showcasing its core values and its pivotal role in shaping a sustainable and equitable future.

Varsha Vimalaadhithan and Ilfa Fathima, champions of the La Lumiere project, along with the formidable team of Mahalakshmi Dev Samra Fathima Kundanika Biswas and Sameeha Ansari, who spearheaded the Algal project, stood as the torchbearers for the school. Their presentation didn't merely unveil innovative solutions; it showcased the school's resolute commitment to eco-initiatives. The our own booth drew throngs of professionals and engineering students who were left in awe of the students' resolute dedication to solution-driven agendas.

In parallel, students engaged in profound discussions at the THIMUN-formatted MUN sessions. Notably, Varshini Dhanya (8-D) and Kohna Dhanraj Baviskar (8-E) were recognized as the Most Active Delegates, while Syeda Ghousia Afsheen (11-J) and Liah Murali (11-J) received accolades for their exceptional work on the Best Draft Resolution.
