The Vibrance of OWNEX 2024: A Canvas of Creativity

On November 7th, 2024, Our Own English High School, Sharjah Girls, brought learning beyond classrooms to life with OWNEX 2024! This year’s event celebrated “Eudaimonia: Building Bonds and Fostering Wellness” and highlighted ‘Parteneriat’—the powerful parent-school partnership that nurtures the holistic growth of our students.
Parents, students, and teachers shared vibrant, interactive moments in creative sessions like Sip and Paint, the colorful Saptarangi Rangoli, Rhythm Retreat karaoke, and the stylish Sauvé Soiree Fashion Show, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Esteemed guests, including Mr. Dino Varkey, GEMS Group Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Nauman Ali Khan, Chief Risk & Compliance Officer; Mrs. Funke Baffour-Awuah, GEMS Corporate Head of Wellbeing; and Mr. Johannes Bodenstein, School Improvement Advisor, graced the event with their presence. In addition, eminent officials from SPEA engaged with students, lending their support and recognition to this extraordinary showcase of talent and community spirit.
From captivating dance performances and interactive literary quizzes to a mind-expanding 3D virtual reality experience, every corner of OWNEX 2024 was alive with creativity and curiosity. Visitors explored the enchanting ‘Alice in Wonderland’ room, innovative exhibits in coding and robotics, a dazzling fashion show, and hands-on activities like Sip and Paint, Saptarangi Rangoli, and Rhythm Retreat karaoke, each sparking inspiration and delight.
Principal Ms. Asma Gilani shared the spirit of the day: “OWNEX 2024 reflects our students’ endless potential, blending creativity, culture, and learning to nurture their growth.” OWNEX 2024 wasn’t just an event—it was a joyful celebration of unity, imagination, and the boundless journey of learning.
