Intra-school debate -Take De-Bait

The intra-school debate session, "Take De-Bait," held at Our Own English High School Sharjah (Girls) on 22nd of August, 2024, was a tremendous success. The debate centered around the motion, "I do not have a personal life because I am a teacher" and was expertly moderated by Mr. Benjamin Oomen - an Architect by profession, Toastmaster and an avid orator and a champion debater having won several awards. Ten debaters from various departments took part with great enthusiasm, presenting persuasive arguments that captivated both the audience and the distinguished judges: Dr. Munmun Ghosh Dutta - a distinguished General and Cosmetic Dentist with Emirates Healthcare Group and Dr. Sanjay Batheja - co-founder of Capital University College, London College of Arts and the London College of Management. Each participant demonstrated eloquence, passion and a deep understanding of the complexities involved in the motion. Participants deliberated on the challenges of maintaining a balance whilst juggling the demanding workloads of a teacher. The final round was especially intense, showcasing the exceptional talents of the participants. While Ms. Arshita Misra and Ms. Farzana Shaikh were honored as the best speakers for and against the motion, respectively, participants from the primary school, Ms. Arshita Misra and Ms. Radhika Subramanian emerged as the best team
