Hemlata secured her Masters in Education with a distinction from the Manchester Metropolitan University UK in Educational Leadership and Management. She was the external Examiner of the Teacher training Colleges in Kolkata under the West Bengal Board from 2003 to 2005 and set the papers for Nursery and Kindergarten methods. Hemlata’ s career in education spans 2 decades, and she has been a part of GEMS since 2005. She is keenly interested in educational change management and professional development and has conducted and attended innumerable workshops on education and is an active member of the GEMS review team. Hemlata is also the Designated Safeguard Lead at OOS.
Hemlata has coauthored a book titled – Pedagogy from Perception to Perspective, in which she has highlighted the 21st century pedagogical principles and approaches for effective teaching and learning and has also shared excerpts from her dissertation on change management. A peoples’ person Hemlata always seeks to form quality relationships with her students, her team and the parent community.
