Girly Kurian

Girly Kurian joined Our Own English High School, Sharjah in 1991 as a Middle School English teacher. Over the years, she has assisted the English Department and the school in various capacities; English Coordinator, House Mistress, Teacher-In-Charge of the school magazine. She has always been a passionate and effective teacher providing positive learning experiences to those under her care. Girly is experienced in leading, adept at training students and motivating and developing both students and teachers.
Before joining GEMS, Girly taught at a teachers’ training college in South Africa, where she trained post- matric students. At present, she teaches senior secondary school students. Whatever age group students may belong to, she believes that the lessons taught, the methods that are incorporated, and the attitudes of the teacher toward their students and towards learning have a lasting influence on life.
